Orkestro is creating the network that facilitates the exchange and trade of last-mile delivery services. Layer by layer, we're building up the infrastructure that brings transparency and automation to the delivery market, from validating transactions to optimising performances and delivering a seamless customer experience.

Engineering at Orkestro

We're a small team building the tools to automatically search, book and manage the best delivery services. This means building a scalable, seamless API ecosystem that our customers love to interact with and consumer-facing products that will make Orkestro the go-to last-mile tool for small and big businesses.

We currently process thousands of orders, each with hundreds of interactions and touchpoints, and we're aiming to process more and more. We are building a system that handles scale and embraces simplicity. Technology stack

Orkestro mainly runs on a micro-service platform and we use Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to architect our services.

• Typescript & Node.js to create our micro-services.
• Postgres for our databases.
• RabbitMQ for our asynchronous messaging queue.
• Google Cloud Platform to run our infrastructure.
• Docker and Kubernetes for containerisation and orchestration (using GCP’s GKE).
• React for our web application.
• CircleCI and GitHub Actions for our CI/CD pipeline.

We are looking for engineers who...

• Are passionate about building amazing developer experiences to build out our system.
• Always follow the principle of making the complex simple, not the other way around.
• Are comfortable and experienced in managing, troubleshooting and simplifying event-driven and micro-services systems.
• Have the ability to balance business and product needs with engineering. Pragmatism is key.
• Are managers of one and proactively get things done instead of waiting for their manager to tell them what to do.
• Like to leave the code in a better condition than the one they found it.
• Are team players who thrive in a collaborative environment.
• Have their own opinions, but consider changing them as a strength, not a weakness.
• Are looking for a long-term position to grow with the company.
• Actively use AI tools where relevant to produce more and better outcomes.

And it would be a bonus if you...

• Have some experience in DevOps.
• Have worked with Data Pipelines.
• Are experienced in fine-tuning and effectively prompting LLMs.
• Can also do some basic front-end work.

Logistics and important info

• 💰 Salary up to €105,000 per annum, depending on several factors, including but not limited to experience, location and employment type.
• 📈 Stock options. We think it's only fair that as we succeed, so should you. After all, we're in this together.
• 📍 Remote in the UK + EU. We try to meet once a quarter or so.
• 🏝 28 days + local bank holidays.
• 👨‍💻 You’ll be reporting to Sacha Zvetelman, our CTO.
• 🧾 Depending on the location, we offer different types of employment.
• 🕰 We have flexible working hours and trust that you will get your work done. We’re very flexible and put a great focus on physical and mental well-being, as well as a good work-life balance.
