A large convenience estate, without the head-office overhead.
SPAR's convenience estate runs on tight windows and thin margins, and the delivery layer had to hold up across a large multi-site network without adding head office overhead.
Between the first full quarter on the network and the most recent, failed dispatches fell by more than three quarters and fulfilment now runs consistently above 99%. Over the same period the number of fleets carrying SPAR's volume doubled, so no one courier's bad day is the estate's problem.
On-time performance against the promised delivery window rose from 96.4% to 98.3% year on year, which means late deliveries roughly halved. The median order now lands more than forty minutes inside its window rather than scraping the deadline.
Manual dispatch dropped by more than half, taking the work off store and head-office staff.
